VIDEO EXPLANATION
Resistors in series:
When two or more resistors are connected end to end, they are said to be connected in series.
இரண்டு அல்லது அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட Resistor கள் ஒன்றன்பின்ஒன்றாகஇணைப்பது Series Connection ஆகும்.
Characteristics of series circuit:
1.The current ( I ) passing through all the three resistors is the same.
எல்லாமின்தடையாக்கிகளிலும் ஒரேஅளவான மின்னோட்டமே பாயும்.
2.The potential difference (Voltage) across each resistor must be different.
மின்னழுத்தவேறுபாடுகள் மாறுபடும்
According to Ohm’s law, if same current pass through different resistors
V1 = IR1
V2 = IR2
V3 = IR3
3.The total voltage V is equal to the sum of voltages across each resistor.

V = V1 + V2 + V3
4. Equivalent resistance is the sum of the individual resistances.

Resistors in Parallel
When several resistances are shunted across each other, it is said to be connected in parallel.
1. Potential difference same across all the resistances in parallel.
2.The current passing through each resistance is different. Depending upon the values of resistors the appropriate fraction of total current passes through them.
Applying Ohm’s law to each resistor,

3.The total current is the sum of the total current flowing through various resistances connected in parallel.
I= I1 + I2 + I3
4.The equivalent resistance of the parallel combination of the resistors is given by
